South
Andros
This Bahamas
bonefishing destination offers the best of what this large group
of wetland islands are famous for: big bonefish; vast spaces;
endless stretches of flats; very few people.
These sheltered areas offer excellent opportunities for wading
on hard sand flats or fishing from modern island-built skiffs.
On any tide your guide will put you on an intercept with single,
double and schools of bonefish.
Along the beaches there is fast fishing for permit, jacks, grouper,
snapper, sharks and barracuda with fly or spinning gear. Barracuda
up to 5 feet will challenge your nerve and arms with fast, slashing
strikes and wild acrobatic displays.
If you like BIG fish--the offshore stuff --we will be
glad to set you up to challenge sailfish, tuna and other offshore
monsters.
Enjoy the wilderness fishing that earned Andros' reputation, at
prices that put the world's best saltwater fishing within almost
everyone's budget. Take a trip with Buccaneers to wild and remote
South Andros, Bahamas.
We've two different categories of accommodation here: one basic,
geared to the serious angler with no one else to please, and one
deluxe/luxury: serious angling, but serious comforts, too.
For
hard-core anglers seeking a bonefish wilderness to lose themselves
in for a week (or two or three), there's the Glatos Bonefish Lodge, at Kemp's
Bay. Comfy but not fancy accommodations; beaches are inviting,
soft breezes rustle the palms and the food and comforts are excellent.
Your guides are the best in the Bahamas - men with two generations
of combined experience, and excellent equipment. Your hosts are
ready to serve you with a smile and a friendly word.
